MARGARET WISE BROWN
Margaret Wise Brown (1910-1952) has helped lull millions of little ones to sleep with two of the most beloved bedtime classics of all time: Goodnight Moon and Runaway Bunny. She’s considered one of the pioneers of children’s literature, not only because she was so in tune with the emotional lives of children, but also because of her belief that quality books should be affordable for everyone. Featuring artwork from Clement Hurd, Garth Williams and other celebrated illustrators, her picture books are as popular now as they were when they were first published. In fact, many of her stories are being re-released with art from some of today’s most famous illustrators, including Karen Katz and Caldecott Honor artist Diane Goode.
