Ann Rule’s bestselling Crime Files series reminds us that truth is not only stranger than fiction…it’s deadlier. In But I Trusted You, the 14th page-turner in the series, we meet cads who kill or get killed, like the 45-year-old playboy who marries for money, only to discover his new wife is as broke as he is. Was she the one who left his naked body on their icy front walk? Then there’s the young housewife stalked by a maniac who waits till she’s at her most vulnerable to strike. Other tales of murderous monsters include a “happily” married maniac who liked to strangle other women; a pervert who entrapped people for sex orgies; a small boy who grew to be a killer despite his privileged upbringing and more.

This book I could not put down these stories in her book is real real as it get. In today's society things do happen in real life just like i read in ann rule book. I belive this book make you think. Things happen so quick and fast at a blink of an eye. Life is not a joke it is what you make of it.

I agree with Debroah I think Ann Rule is trying to make a fast buck. She use to write great books but I think it has gotten old to her so therefore she just throws in the old old stories that no one wanted to write about. I no longer buy her books. It is a shame.

This is the first book by Ann Rule that I have read and I found it slow moving and hard to get in to. I was expecting so much more from her and was disappointed in this book.
