Some people dream of leaving big city life behind. Ree Drummond didn’t. Until she met “Marlboro Man,” that is. A real cowboy with his own ranch, he swept Ree off her feet and deposited her in the middle of an Oklahoma pasture. “More than a decade and four kids later,” she perfected the art of feeding people who work hard for a living. Based on her popular blog, The Pioneer Woman Cooks is all about this city slicker’s life on the ranch with her family, horses and dogs. As on her blog, each recipe—starters, breakfast, dinner (translation: lunch), supper (translation: dinner), sweets—comes with lots of step-by-step photos. From Braised Beef Brisket for 12 to Blackberry Cobbler, they’re hearty enough to satisfy the hungriest cowboy.

I just had a chance to review the two cookbooks I just got re: The Pioneer Woman Cooks. I was pleasantly pleased with all the recipes, the step by step photos, and actually the entire presentation of her books, ranch photos, cowboy photos, her family, the flowers, etc etc etc. So, I highly recommend Ree’s books (Food From My Frontier & Recipe From An Accidental Country Girl). I also noted the publisher, William Morrow–I always look at the publishers if the book is well printed and well made, and they do great work. Thanks Ree; keep up the good work. I also watch your cooking shows, and enjoy them. Eleanor Bridges June 15.13 9.05p (That Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie looked yummy on yer show today (10a)! Alas, it's not in my 2 books, so there must be a new book coming out Mmmm? Keep up the good work!)

This is still probably one of my favorite cookbooks. I bring the artichoke dip to events and Im now known for it. Delish recipes.. so worth the money! Photos are fabulous, Im addicted.
I love this cookbook! My family, which is full of picky eaters, has eaten all the meals I prepared from this book. My husband feels the chicken fried steak is better than the meal served in restaurants!
This is a wonderful cookbook! Easy to follow directions and I especially like the step by step illustrations! One of the best cookbooks I have ever purchased!
