You know how cats always look like they have some tidbit of information they’re not sharing? Jim Qwilleran does—or he’s about to, when Moose County falls into an uproar regarding vast inheritances from wealthy old families. You see, only his cool Siamese cat, Koko, knows what’s going on—and he’s not telling. Jim thinks the cat’s intuition is from having more whiskers than ordinary cats. Could be....
Meanwhile, Jim is busy writing a play called The Cat Who Got Elected Dog Catcher, until there’s a mysterious death from a bee sting, propelling him and his felon-hunting felines into action.
Forget being the cat’s meow—if you’re on the wrong side of the law, you’ll be kibble when Koko and Yum Yum get their paws on you!

I wished I had read the reviews before I jumped to purchase this one. Was Ms Braun on leave -of her senses- when she submitted this? And where was her editor? I have loved-loved-loved the "Cat Who" series, but if this had been my first book to read (of the series) it would also be my last. The whole story was rushed, the characters were not developed, nor the plot. Not her usual stuff; almost like a "ghost pen" or something.

This didn't sound like the usual books Ms. Braun writes. There actually was no ending. I also couldn't believe the way Qwilleran reacted when Polly wrote to him that she was not coming back. I'd like to see another version of this story.

What happened to Lilian Jackson Braun? She must have been abducted before she finished the book. If this is a way to get two books out of one; it stinks.

Did they forget to print the ending of this book or what? I totally agree with the other fans/readers. This book was sorely lacking in plot, character development, storyline resolution, etc. I was stunned to turn the last page to discover it WAS the last page! I kept looking for more; even reread the last chapter to see if I had missed something. I couldn't believe that this book was even published as it is--can't believe LJB wrote it this way. It's certainly not up to her usual standards! I also agree that MG should not be selling it, or making it available for an intro package. If I had paid for this book, instead of getting it in my intro package, I would have returned it and demanded my money back.
