Danielle Steel asserts her position at the top of the New York Times bestsellers list with a heart-wrenching new novel that traces the unforgettable journey of five lifelong friends.
They met at an exclusive private school in San Francisco, and even then their personalities were evident. Gabby, the take-charge beauty, could bend the boys, Billy, Andy and Sean, to her will while from the start she and Izzie were confidants. The children became known as the Big Five, and in their rarefied existence, the outside world didn’t matter. Yet storm clouds were already gathering.
In high school, once perfect lives become buffeted by unraveling families and personal missteps. College offers new challenges as the friends begin to separate and diverge. Billy becomes a football star and Gabby heads to Hollywood. Andy studies medicine, Izzie teaching. And though Sean seeks fulfillment in a dangerous arm of the law, the risks of life, where anything can happen in the blink of an eye, grow greater for them all…
Friends Forever is Danielle Steel’s most emotionally powerful novel yet, as she weaves together a vivid cast of characters who, through decades of tragedy and triumph, remain friends forever.

This was a wonderful book which kept me reading non-stop. It did have some very sad parts but overall I loved it.

My mother and I would love to read a follow-up to Mrs. Steele's Happy Birthday. It was a wonderful book but left you to wonder about so many things. A second book would be great. Thank you Danielle for your many wonderful books!

Danielle is one you can always count on. My mother who isn't a reader has become an avid Danielle Steele reader.

I've loved books about sisters/best friends since i read LITTLE WOMEN in 4th grade. I have read a number of Danielle Steel's books and I usually end up cringing at the stereotypical characters, predictable plots and repetition. I keep hoping for better but never get it from her. And somehow the "incestuous" theme creeps in somehow and that's a little disturbing. I would love to see her really do something with her writing that doesn't involve the popular novel cookie cutter themes.

Although, I found myself crying throughout the book and it was depressing at times, I related to this more than any book that she has written in a long time. After having lost 2 very close friends of mine in recent years, I really related to this book. It was a truthful book reminding us that we do not need to take our family and friends for granted.
