It’s been a decade since documentary filmmaker Justine Nolan lost her grandmother, the one true source of love in her life (since it was clear her mother, Deborah, preferred her interior design career to raising children). But forgiving her mother is totally out of the question after a letter never meant for Justine’s eyes reveals that her grandmother is alive—and that Deborah has deliberately kept her hidden from the family.
In Letter from a Stranger Barbara Taylor Bradford dazzles readers as Justine’s search for her grandmother takes her to Istanbul, where family secrets stretching as far back as World War II paint a picture of a woman she never really knew. And it leads Justine to question the desires of her own heart.
