Bleed for Me

The sight of a 14-year-old girl covered in blood would rattle anyone, and psychologist Joe O’Loughlin is no exception when he opens his door to a terrified Sienna Hegarty, his daughter’s friend. Her incoherence is no help to the police, who find her father with his throat slashed in the home the two shared. But when Sienna’s hysteria gives way to an unnerving calm, her claim that she remembers nothing rings false. Did she kill her father?

Bleed for Me is Michael Robotham at his edgy best as Joe, burdened by his impending divorce, hopes to reclaim his daughter’s affection by helping Sienna. But as investigators take aim at the girl, Joe senses that something else is behind her chilling detachment. Or is it someone?

Terrific

I highly recommend all Robotham's books. His earlier Joe O'Laughlin thrillers are terrific. Bleed For Me is a page turner with heart. You bleed for many of the characters. This is my favorite type of book - a literary mystery. The writing is as complex as the story.

A New Fan of Robotham
May 07, 2012

This is the first book I've read by Michael Robotham but it won't be my last. Robotham draws you in to an underworld of predators of teenagers for sex, political murders and ethnic prejudice. Couple all of that with the discussion of interpersonal relationships between adult men and women and it sounds overly complicated, but it isn't, not the way this storyteller weaves his tale. Graphic in many areas, hurtful to read but realistic, and intriguing; you're kept spellbound and can't wait to see how it all turns out. Well done, very well done.

Excellent!

Thoughtful and well written. Frightening for anyone with daughters - but I couldn't put it down. Robotham's style is thoughtful and elegant, but very readable and comfortable.

excellent

As always excellent! Just wish he did not do what he did to the dog. Was hard for me to finish book after that scene. But that is the point isn't it, Robotham makes you feel that much and become a part of what you read. I look forward to his next book with anticipation.
