Not exactly what I was looking for. But, I can't wait to try my hand at canning again. I helped my mom and grandma, never tried it myself. Lots of unique recipes.

This book is full of misinformation. It is NEVER okay to seal a jar without either a water bath or pressure cooker. If the food has a high enough acid level, water baths ARE find, you may want to try the government agriculture web site which has all of the current requirements for safe canning and preserving.
Some of the recipes are okay for the most part. It has spice mixes and ways to make different sauces like mushroom ketchup. If you really know your stuff about canning, you could use some of the recipes and alter them to make them safe, using the appropriate canning procedures.
The whole time I was reading this I was very concerned that new canners may not know that these methods are very out dated. This ONLY got two stars because there are useable recipes in it that don't look too bad.

The book has only one or two usuable recipes. It is filled with odd combinations and recipes that I know I will never use. I needed more basic recipes, and tips and help learning to can. If you are an old pro at canning and are looking for unusual recipes, this is for you. However, if you are like me and new to canning its probably not for you.

Too many recipes of weird combinations that i'll never try. Not really what I was looking for.
