Digital Fortress

Susan Fletcher, a brilliant, beautiful mathematician who works in a top-secret department of the National Security Agency (NSA), receives two phone calls just minutes apart. The first is from her fiancé David, a professor, who cancels their romantic weekend; the second is from her boss. It seems a top-secret computer that can track suspected terrorists has received a code it can’t crack. Then Susan discovers more startling news: the sender of this code has been found dead in Spain. And David has been sent there to investigate.

As Susan digs for answers, she realizes the NSA is being held hostage not by guns or bombs, but by a computer code so complex that it could cripple the nation! Now, Susan is racing against time to save not only her country, but also her life and that of the man she loves….

A cute boy's romance with sorta probable techno thrills. I skipped through a lot of it, too formulaic.

This was very much up to the Dan Brown style and excellent story as Davinci Code. I like how one of his main character was both good and evil

This book was a great read. Strong female lead, lots of twists and an unexpected ending!

Worthwhile read.

Digital Fortress and Deception Point may not be on the same lines as DaVinci Code and Angel & Demons but they both are worth the time spent. If you like action you will be kept in suspense from the first pages.

I was not impressed
August 11, 2009

Although I am a huge fan of The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons, this one left me less than enthused. Boring and predictable, the characters were highly unoriginal and quite two-dimensional. I also feel that the premise was completely overblown, and the resolution to the story was underdelivered. I will await another work to see if it is as good as the other two titles mentioned, but this one was a total waste of money.
