I've ready others by this author and been reasonably pleased. However, this one appears to have a major "blooper"...Cross and his wife have two young children, a toddler, Damon, and an infant girl, who suffers from colic. Cross's wife reveals that she has become pregnant again. Shortly after this revelation, she is shot, and dies. Fast forward ten years, and all of a sudden, Cross is described as a father of THREE, the youngest being a young boy. It doesn't add up. Where'd this youngest child come from?
I hate inconsistencies like these in a book!

I love the book, could not put it down. This was one of James Patterson's best. I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan. The only bad thing is I had to go buy it at a store. I do not like the idea belonging to a book club and find that I can get the book faster at a store.

I had anticipated James Patterson's "Cross" since hearing about it on Amazon. I borrowed a copy from the local library and couldn't put it down until I finished reading it. It is vintage Alex Cross the way that people remember the series as it began. Alex has decided to call his career in the FBI quits and take up private practice and caring for his three kids when a part of his past reappears in the DC area. His old buddy and partner from the DC Police Department John Sampson enlists his help in investigating a series of brutal rapes and murders that take him into confronting the man he has wanted the most: the man who killed his wife Maria over ten years ago. Does Alex get justice or revenge? This is one ride you won't want to get off until it is over.
