Our newest International-Book-of-the-Month selection is a smart, sexy thriller from an exciting new author. Ridley Jones thought she had a loving family and a comfortable life, until an act of kindness reveals it’s all been a farce. On her way to lunch in the New York’s East Village, Ridley sees a small child wander into a busy street, directly in the path of a speeding truck. She leaps in front of the truck and whisks the child to safety. A reporter happens to catch the whole thing on film and her heroism winds up on the front page of the Post, which leads to interviews on all the morning talk shows. Even CNN® picks up the story. A few days later, Ridley receives a mysterious envelope containing a yellowed picture of a baby, a man, and a woman. The woman looks just like Ridley. The note attached to the letter says, “Are you my daughter?” Her parents deny she was adopted, but another note arrives: "They lied." Jake, a handsome new neighbor, helps Ridley investigate the notes, but he has secrets of his own—and some involve Ridley’s past. Suddenly, Ridley is plunged into a dangerous world where no one is what they seem. The truth hurts—and might even kill her.

I could NOT put this book down. I liked it a lot and I especially like the way the author "talks" to you, saying things like, "I know what you're thinking". I will definately buy more of her books.

What a exciting, fast moving book, with a lot of personal insight. It made me reflect on things that have happened in my own life, the way the author examined feelings etc. This was a great book that truly was a page turner. I was ripe and ready to read the follow up on it.

As far as reviews go, I'm more disappointed by the good reviews given this book, than I am of the poorly written story contained in the book itself. I couldn't even complete reading this waste of ink and paper. Not realizing that I already read this tripe, a friend of mine gave me a copy found at the airport (left behind by some other disappointed reader). One reviewer, herein, reportedly gave her copy to Goodwill - my copies went into the trash. Who did the author have to "buyoff" to get this book published?

I was extremely delighted with this book! I've read all 3 of Unger's books now and I absolutely love her writing style and the fact that they don't contain any explicit scenes..just pure intrigue and suspense! Can't wait for her next book!

Everyone is allowed their own opinion, but I thought it was great! I had a long plane trip to take and bought this book at an airport waiting to board. I got about half way finished with this book when I arrived at my destination, only to accidently leave it behind when i left. I was so devestated that I re-bought it to finish it! I thought it was great and can't wait to read more from her.
