“Known for her honest portrayals of ordinary women in small-town America” (Publishers Weekly), Debbie Macomber has created a comforting tale of knitting needles and companionship that wraps around your heart and never lets go. Lydia Hoffman’s knitting shop, “A Good Yarn,” is thriving, as is her newfound relationship with Brad Goetz. But when his ex-wife reappears, she suddenly feels unsure of herself. The women in her knitting class are also facing some of life’s challenges, among them a scorned woman, a depressed teenager and a retired librarian whose ex gambled away their savings. Together, this diverse group of women finds new hope in the beauty of their handiwork and in the light of each other’s friendship.

"A Good Yarn" documents the lives of five women who regularly visit this knitting shop and become true friends as they learn about their different lives and the many problems each other faces, regardless of their age, or position in life. The book goes back and forth telling each woman's story and I couldn't wait to get to the next one! This was a wonderful book and great example of how our lives touch one another and the kindness and generosity we can have toward others who are in any kind of need.
