Admit it, summer wouldn’t be summer without a James Patterson blockbuster to keep us glued to our beach chairs! In Sail, it’s danger on the high seas as the #1 bestselling author takes us aboard a luxury yacht that’s about to set out—for hell.
Katherine Dunne is hoping a cruise on her late husband’s yacht will help her kids finally deal with his loss, suffered four years ago while diving from this very boat, and bring them together as a family. Katherine’s devoted brother-in-law and former lover, Jake, has agreed to man the helm in the absence of her too-busy new spouse, super-lawyer Peter Carlyle, and she’s grateful since Jake has a special bond with Katherine’s troubled daughter, Carrie. He’s also an idol to Mark, her other rebellious teen, and sweet 10-year-old Ernie adores him. And once they get underway, Jake does manage to unite the Dunnes—in a battle for their very lives….
The nightmare begins with an inexplicable leak in the hull followed by a monster storm that has everyone, under Jake’s leadership, pitching in to stay afloat. Their victory against the elements leaves the Dunnes euphoric! But then the unimaginable happens…and suddenly survival is the least of their concerns.

I thought this might be a good read since I love his Alex Cross series and "love-story" novels. This book however was such a disappointment! It was nothing like the afore mentioned books and definitely did NOT represent the style of his writing that I've grown to love.
This book was so over the top UNBELIEVABLE that it was laughable. I wanted to stop reading after the first 20 pages, but kept hoping it would get better. The more I read, the more outrageous the story got. This was defintely a waste of time and money. I think Patterson should definitely rethink writing another book with Mr. Roughan.

I am extremely dissappointed in this book. It is more like a newspaper article without involving you in the story. It is definitely one you quicly learn you can put down and not bother picking up again, When I started it, I thought it would pickup in intensity and catch my attention. I was wrong. I will never again purchase or bother with any co-authored books by James Patterson and any other. I have yet to read any coauthored that has not been a waste of my time. I am extremely attached to his other books particularily the Alex Cross series. Perhaps I am spoiled by his other books.

James Patterson is a wonderful writer, and all his books are well worth the money. He never fails to keep you turning each page. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. It is spell binding..I read it in less than 6 hrs. I couldn't put it down. The Dunne family went through a rough time, with husband dying, then getting remarried, not to mention the troubled children, and then nearly getting killed, but came out knowing they were going to finally be a family again, they realized what really mattered "family'. James Patterson books will keep you wondering what will happen next. As always I look forward to his next book, which will be out soon..
