Impossible to put down, Danielle Steel’s mesmerizing new novel tellls the chilling story of a young woman’s desperate struggle to escape a sociopath who holds her in his thrall.
Top photographer Hope Dunne finds serenity behind the lens of a camera—until she’s hired to shoot one of the world’s most celebrated writers. Suddenly, Hope finds it difficult to focus on anything other than Finn O’Neill, who sweeps her off her feet with his boyish charm and devastating good looks. Caught up in their whirlwind romance, Hope offers no resistance when Finn whisks her away to his palatial estate in a magnificent but isolated part of Ireland. And that’s when things begin to go terribly wrong.
It starts with cracks in Finn’s stories about his life, followed by outright lies and bouts of jealousy that leave Hope unnerved. How, she wonders, is it possible to be so deeply in love while so deeply in doubt, too? Yet she is. For despite Hope’s fears that Finn is hiding something terrible from her, she’s already trapped in his web…and too dazzled to escape.
Matters of the Heart builds to a stunning climax as Hope tries to find the courage to prevail in the face of evil.

I felt that I was right there with the main character in either New York or Ireland. The story made me stop and see what is important to me in my life.

I have read every book except Southern Lights and Big Girl she has ever written, but I do have them. She writes some of the most awsome books.I really hated that the main person was put through so much turmoil. But in the end she found love like we all hope to do after a bad relationship. The first book I read of Danielle Steel was the Ring. I stared about 7:00 on a Wednesday night and did not stop till Thursday morn about 5:00. It was that good. I have read the Ring snd some of her others more than once. She is a great writer and I hope she never stops.

Some women are so desperate for love and attention they don't realize and don't want to face reality to admit what an awful relationship they are in. Some think it has to be either or and not patiently wait for the right one to come along.
