Lonestar Homecoming, the third exciting tale in Colleen Coble’s popular Lonestar series, is filled with page-turning suspense and romance.
Moments before her California wedding, Gracie finds two Federal agents at her door with a warrant for the arrest of her fiancé, Cid Ortega. When gunfire breaks out in the front yard and the agents are killed, Gracie realizes that Cid had lied to her about his involvement with the drug cartel and she escapes by train to Texas with her young daughter.
Army reservist Michael is on the same train, wondering how he’s going to care for his two children who have just lost their mother. At the Bluebird Crossing station in Texas, he sees Gracie, barely able to stand, with a little girl. He hires her as a nanny but senses that she’s running from something. When Michael reports for border duty, he learns that the drug cartel has put a price on his own head as revenge for his brother having killed the kingpin’s brothers.
When Cid arrives unannounced with nothing but bad things in mind, Gracie sees her plans for a happy life with Michael coming to an end and her faith in God almost gone.
Gracie has left God…but has God left Gracie?

I have read the 3 books in this series; it seems all of them have basically the same plot and story line, with different names. I kept thinking the next one would be different, but if you've read one of them, don't bother with the other two. It's "okay" reading, if you want mindless, "soap-opera" type reading material to put you to sleep.

Coleen Coble never fails to touch your heart with her books. Lonestar Homecoming was very much in the top of her list as it continued to bring about the heartfelt suspense in Western style. An awesome book.
