Run for Your Life

Want to know what you can expect from James Patterson’s new thriller? Let’s put it this way, every creaking floorboard, every rattling window will have you ready to Run for Your Life.

It hasn’t been easy for New York City Detective Mike Bennett since his wife died a year ago, leaving him to raise their 10 adopted kids. Not that he doesn’t have help; Mike’s housekeeper and his father are a godsend, especially when he’s called to investigate several murders that point to a serial killer on a rampage.

The first victim was pushed into the path of an oncoming subway train in front of horrified bystanders; the second was killed by a well-dressed man, who casually walked into a chic store and shot him at point-blank range. Stunned witnesses at both scenes described the attacker as a tall, dark-haired man—in other words, half the city.

As the bodies continue to pile up, a break comes from reporter Cathy Calvin, who’s gotten a mission statement from the killer. He calls himself “the Teacher,” and, after listening, Mike realizes his hunch was right: This guy’s agenda is personal. How personal, though, he has yet to find out. For the Teacher’s next lesson is all about family—Mike’s, to be exact.

I LOVED this book!! No big surprise as I do not believe I've read a Patterson book I didn't love! This was a typical JP page turner for sure!

Bad Choice for me
August 23, 2010

I so regret buying this book. I don't know why James Patterson teams up some of these "Wannabe writers." I have been a fan for years and I can tell when he writes a chapter in some of these books. This other author, "Michael Ledwidge" is a pig. He writes nasty things when describing blacks(see pg 71) and quickly apologizes if he writes an unkind statement about whites(see pg 71-72). I will no longer read any novels with his name attached and I certainly will not finish this garbage. Moran.... Please go back to writing your books by YOURSELF, James Patterson. These people may need you, but you sure don't need them.

I loved this book!!

I have to respectfully disagree with the people who said don't bother with this book. I loved it!! I couldn't put it down. Once of James Patterson's best books in a while.

Don't waste your time.
June 12, 2010

If you are a Patterson fan, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS BOOK. I can only hope that Mr. Patterson only lent his name for the commercial value. I find nothing of his imprint on this trite, poorly written, predicitable waste of time. Michael Bennett (the main character) is a walking encyclopedia of over-used phrases and unnecessary observations. Please, Mr. Patterson - don't ask for help in writing your books. You do fine on your own.

Loving it...
March 23, 2010

I have just managed to put the book down long enough to attempt to get my daily life routine completed so I can get back to reading! I am currently on here adding many more James Patterson books on my reading list! I love the writing style that pulls you it from the start!
