In Fugitive, Phillip Margolin brings back attorney Amanda Jaffe in a twisted tale of intrigue…and murder.
While languishing in prison, con man Charlie Marsh saved a guard from an inmate’s shiv and earned his freedom. But not too long after, he became the prime suspect in the murder of a congressman and fled to Batanga, Africa. For 12 years, Charlie kept his head down, until he had an affair with the wife of the country’s dictator, who had her chopped up into little pieces. What else could Charlie do but come back home to face the less discordant music here, and now he’s hoping Amanda Jaffe can keep him off death row. The more pressing problem for Charlie—and Amanda, too—is a killer who thinks they’re on to his sordid crimes….

This was a good read, better than some of his others books. The plot was good and the characters interesting. Although I had the ending figured out midway there were enough twists and turns to make me second guess myself from time to time. I would recommend this book.
