Always-fun-to-read Fern Michaels introduces a delightful new series. Having just buried her eighth loving husband, Teresa “Toots” Loudenberry is looking for a distraction. Why not use her vast wealth for something useful and rescue from ruin the local newspaper where her daughter is a journalist on the rise? But Toots doesn’t want Abby to think she’s meddling, even if she is.
Swinging into action behind the scenes, Toots soon uncovers a scandal involving Abby’s no-good boss. She knows cracking the case won’t be easy—nor will her efforts to play matchmaker for her daughter and a handsome young lawyer. For that Toots is relying on her childhood buddies Sophie, Mavis and Ida, devoted godmothers who want in on the scoop….

I have enjoyed reading Fern Michaels.....until "The Scoop". It was extremely similar to the story of the Sisterhood. You could see where it was going, no surprise. Almost the same story line, with different names. Sorry to say, that I had a very difficult time reading it..found it almost boring at times, was glad to reach the last page.

I have read all of Fern Michaels books and have really enjoyed them until this one. I don't think this one was up to Ms Michaels standard. I wish there had been more about Abby and Chris, maybe there is going to be a sequeal and we will find out more about the paper.

I love Fern Michaels books, I have never found a book I didn't like of her, UNTIL I started reading this book. It's going on 3 weeks and I not 1/2 thru with this book. I usally read her book in 2 or 3 days. I will finish it one day, but it's her WORST book she have ever written.

I enjoyed the book very much, it seemed to follow some of the plots of the Sisterhood. I wonder if there will be a cross over of charactors. I have read almost all of Fern Michaels Books. I Love the Sisterhood, and the Coutler series--Texas, Nevada, and Kentucky.

Oh wow being married eight times but Toots loved them all in different ways. Abby was her gift of life Toots would do any thing for her as a Mother should. Toots treated Chris as her own son it made him feel good. Toots treated her friend well they all had fun together. I really enjoyed the book.
