In Ruth Reid’s The Promise of an Angel, Judith Fischer’s future is forever changed when an angel comes between her and her Amish upbringing.
After a barn raising accident, Judith is convinced she’s met an angel. Her attempts to convince others, however, end up frustrating her Old-Order Amish community. Only Andrew Lapp believes her, but the rest, including Levi Plank, the man she’s to marry, demand she forget such nonsense. Meanwhile, her younger sister Martha has taken a fancy to Levi and sees her sister’s controversy as a perfect distraction for turning Levi’s head.
When, in a dream, the angel tells Judith she must choose her path, will she place her hope in the angel’s message, even if it means losing all she knows and loves?

I liked this book because I did not know that amish believe in angels. The characters were so believeable! It gave a good look into the Amish way of life and their strict beliefs but also showed that the Amish church leaders are only human and can be wrong too.the way the author portrayed the angel was very believeable. It was a book hard to put down and I read it very quickly.

I truly enjoy Amish Stories. This was was great. How wonderful that the author included A Angel to the Plain Life ans Love. I read the book in two days. If I didn't have other responsibilities I would have read the book in one sitting. I Loved the Story and can't wait for the next book.
