When a newspaper prints fraudulent stock prices that could force his silver mine to close, Rab Trudeau heads for Nevada to see who’s behind the false claims. He gets more than he bargained for. Soon after stepping off the train, he rescues a woman from an oncoming carriage...and both are shocked by the intensity of their attraction.
Problem is, Susanna is already promised to someone else: a childhood friend with a heart of gold and a talent for getting in trouble. Now, even as the mine scandal turns violent, she must make an impossible choice—one that could forever end any hope for future happiness.
A breathtaking tale set in the old west by exciting new author Sara Luck, Susanna’s Choice is a joy to read. You’ll hate for it to end.

This is the first book I've ever read that was so dull I found myself setting the book down on my lap and staring into space. And I love historical westerns! I went crazy with all of those side-stories the author shoved in every few pages. I realize that her husband has big series of non-fiction books on history published, but is it really necessary for her to meander on about historical trivia every chance she got. Geez. And there was really nothing to the plotline, and what there was just sort of meandered and the conclusions and showdowns with the villain were the most anti-climatic I've ever read. Susanna came off as childish, especially with Rab, the supposed hero, always telling her right from wrong, etc. Oh ughhh! Right into the ditch bag with this one and I will NEVER buy another! I absolutely love historical westerns, but not by this author.

The old west backdrop was great, and the plotline filled with intrigues, villains, and interesting supporting characters held my interest. Good start for a debut author and I am looking forward to the next; Claiming the Heart.

I found this book entertaining and enjoyed the western time period. Liked the characters and the plotline moved right along. Ms. Luck is a new author and I expect she will only get better and better with time. Looking forward to her next.

I love Historical Romances. I love Doubleday. But this books was the WORST I've read in a very looooong time. WOW...the author was just all over the place tittering from one topic to the other, defining and explaining things like I was a kindergartner learning everything for the first time, introducing and explaining at GREAT length Characters that had nothing to do with the story line. UGH...TERRIBLE read, TERRIBLE writing. Don't waste your money on this one folks~!!
