I loved how most of Finch's villagers slowly became involved in the mystery. It was wonderful to see how Finch pulled together to help Amelia. Everyone shone. (I found myself wishing there was a list of characters in this one; it was sometimes hard to keep track of who was who.) One small, very small, caveat - Aunt Dimity's role in the stories seems to be decreasing as the villagers' seem to be increasing. I wonder if her time with Lori is coming to an end soon.

An excellent continuation of the series. Strange and wonderful connections revealed! As good as it gets for English small town histories, friendships and relationships. And I find calling a genre "cosy" demeaning, even if Lori does curl up next to the fire to converse with Aunt Dimity.

I liked this Aunt Dimity much better that the last two. The story is as good as the early Aunt Dimity's.

Nancy Atherton's Aunt Dimity series defines the "cozy" genre. There's something here for everyone: a likeable yet flawed and very human heroine, the supernatural element, the vivid descriptions of an English village and its quirky denizens with their all too human frailties, etc. Add a treasure hunt in the latest entry in the series and the recipe is complete. Utterly charming and eminently readable!
