An Outlaw's Christmas

In An Outlaw’s Christmas, by bestselling author Linda Lael Miller, the year is 1915, and even though Blue River, Texas, is mostly civilized, the West is still a little bit wild, and still a little bit dangerous. That’s why Sawyer McKettrick is coming to town. On his way to take over as marshal, he’s no stranger to danger, but he doesn’t expect to be greeted by a bullet, either. Badly wounded, barely conscious, and lost in a blinding snowstorm, he and his horse wander until he finds help—and the prim Piper St. James—at the town’s one-room schoolhouse.

All Piper wants for Christmas is a respite from her hard life in the still-wild West. What she gets instead is a bone-chilling blizzard that brings with it a stranger with a six-shooter and a bullet wound on his shoulder. Is he an outlaw? A murderer? He certainly looks it, but to leave him in the storm is to seal his fate, so she resigns herself to taking care of Sawyer and his horse. Now, trapped by the storm, romance is the furthest thing from their minds. At least at first. Fate has other plans for both gunslinger and teacher. As they soon learn, this Christmas, there’s magic in the air…and that magic is called love.

Another Outstanding Book by Linda Lael Miller

She has done it again! I get so involved in her books that I can't put it down. Her characters are so "real"! It is so easy to get involved in her story. Can't wait to read the next book - From the cowboys to the women they fall in love with to the various critters and supporting characters, all are worthy of their own book!

Good read

This makes a nice book for while your cookies are colling and your watching for when the pumpkin pie is cooked. I don't think it was as good as many of her older books, but at least it's a historical. Christmas seems to be the only time LLM does historical anymore. And I'm not interested in contemporary romance. (But I have a friend who is just the opposite of me in that regard!) It's just too bad she doesn't give us a real historical, like she wrote in the beginning. Oh well, I have found others now to fill that hole. Recommend.

It's Ok

I really love Linda Miller's books and the continuation of family, but was disappointed with the ending. It wasn't satisfying. Left me with "this is it?"
