New York Times bestselling author Janet Chapman kicks off a sizzling new series with Spellbound Falls, a dazzling new novel set in the mountains of Maine. An offshoot of her hugely popular Highlander books, this enchanting tale features the long-awaited story of Maximilian “Mac” Oceanus, a powerful wizard trying to master the most difficult magic of all—love.
A newcomer to Spellbound Falls, Mac wants only to be left alone in order to get to know his newly discovered six-year-old son. It isn’t to be. When he rescues beautiful Olivia Baldwin from an unwanted suitor, he finds himself smitten by the young widow—a condition made even worse by his matchmaking son!
Olivia, however, is busy getting Inglenook Lodge ready for its new season. She just doesn’t have time for any new relationships. Besides, weird stuff always seems to happen around Mac, like her seatbelt jamming when he’s around, and the way he can open locks without any keys.
Yet, despite her determined resistance to the Mac’s charms, her heart has other ideas, and it isn’t long before she’s under his spell. Question is, will that be enough when she learns the truth about him, his magic and his mysterious past?

Concur with the other reviewer. However, did enjoy how Max took care of the assult, although there should have been more serious consequences in my opinion.

A good read. While I have LOVED every one of her Highland books, I am not so crazy about the shape-shifting theme. And, some of what happens is just a little too out there for me. ( I know, like Time-travelling isn't, right?) Anyway, overall I liked it and will read Duncan's story too coming out in May because I can never pass up a Janet Chapman book but, prefer her sticking to the Highland/Druid stuff.
