The House on Butterfly Way

Christened “Fleurissant,” the house on Butterfly Way used to be one of the jewels of Manitou Hills. Now, it’s in ruins, forgotten by all save a woman who sees her own life reflected in its broken windows. As a child, Eugenie loved Fleurissant and the elegant world it represented, and now—with a failed marriage behind her and a troubled son at her side—she’s come back to her hometown to renovate the house that once meant so much to her.

So begins Elizabeth Bevarly’s new novel, and as Eugenie restores Fleurissant’s forgotten beauty, she sees a similar rebirth in her life. But what about love? Will she be ready when two men reawaken passions she thought were long gone…and batter her heart with emotions she’s not sure she can handle…?

Rebirth, renovation, and a smattering of romance!
January 24, 2012

Having read an advanced copy (uncorrected galleys) of Elizabeth Bevarly's newest title, I can say that although it differs slightly in style from her previous work (more contemporary women's fiction than strictly romance), it still bears all the recognizable hallmarks that make her so fun to read. Family relationships are explored, old friendships are renewed, new love is kindled...and a beautiful old house is given her due. I felt an especial affection for the story because it's set in my home state in a city with which I'm familiar. A fun and affecting read that cries out for a sequel...what about it, Elizabeth!?
