It’s Christmastime in the Amish country in Cindy Woodsmall’s The Sound of Sleigh Bells, but all is not merry and bright.
Loneliness covers Beth’s heart as she mourns the recent death of her fiancé. When she discovers an intricately carved scene of Amish children playing in the snow, something deep inside her responds and she wants to help the unknown artist find homes for his work. But she doesn’t know if her bishop will approve of the gorgeous carving or deem it idolatry. Aunt Lizzy sees the changes in her niece when Beth shows her the woodworking, and she’s determined that Beth meets this man who creates healing art.
Will Lizzy’s plan to give her niece a second chance at real love work—or is Beth in for more heartbreak?

I have become a fan of Ms. Woodsmall and feel this book is worth the read. If you enjoy the Amish and a a story line of healing in many venues then this book is for you. It is easy to get into and you become close to the characters. I look forward to her next book.
